I unpotted my Oncidium Twinkle Fragrance Fantasy yesterday and found that all the roots are dead!!! No wonder the plant was shrivelling up.
After trimming all the roots away, I ended up with 4 divisions of varying sizes which I mounted onto fern bark. Will mist the root stumps daily till I see new roots appearing. Do you think that will work? Would appreciate any advice on how I can save this plant :unsure:/>

Esther, the old plant may not grow new roots again. Your hope lies in the new growth which will eventually grow roots.
I don't know if it will work for you, but what I usually do when I end up with rootless orchids is to sphag and bag them. It works well for me, some ppl say it doesn't work. Wanna give it a try?

Tanya, I tried resuscitating my Brassia Rex by bagging it with some sphag but it rotted away.
Do you wrap the stump with sphag or just put the sphag into the bag? I'll bring one of the divisions to my air conditioned office.

Esther,
First I will clean all infected parts and rinse them with fungicide, a MUST. Then put the plant in an empty pot (plastic pot), also cleaned and sterelised and dry. The pot will make it sure that the moist sphag and the plant will not get in contact with each other (Never wrap the base of the plant with sphag). Use a bag that is big enough for you to make a "tent" for the plant when you blow some air and tie the bag. It is important that no parts of the plant will touch the side of the bag or get in contact with the wet sphag. So get a bag with lots of room.
I usually hang the bag somewher darkish/deep shade. Hanging the bag makes it easier for me to keep the top from collapsing down to the plant.
I open the bag and inspect the plant every few days. Cutting away parts that had turned brown if there is any, and dusting with fungicide somemore if necessary.

It is miniature orchid & cultivation is similar to those normal ones like Oncidium Gower Ramsey. It has both red & yellow flower forms. They do best in medium light.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Hello
For Oncidium Twinkle Fragrance Fantasy - is the cultivation regime the same as Oncidium Gower Ramsey, Tolumnias or they require slightly LOWER light to do well?

I have Oncidium Twinkle. But they are not "Fragrance Fantasy". I forgot the exact ID.
Currently, they are in spike now. As this is first time flowering, I cannot tell you how long the flowers last.
Thanks,
